Cactus Monday

Todays cactus is one that has been portrayed before I just thought I would show it in a different way. This is the blossom of the Saguaro cactus, Carnegiea gigantea. Another common name for it is Sage of the Desert.

Animal Wednesday - Blue Jay

This Blue Jay is one of the first paintings I did in a watercolor class that I took a couple of years ago. I have always liked it. I was afraid to paint the background at this time. I am getting a little braver. You will probably notice that I like to paint birds when you come to see what I post for Animal Wedensday. I will try to diversify somewhat but I can't promise.

Cactus Monday

I am not pleased with the way the scanner made my cactus look so blue and dark. I worked hard getting that celedon color in the cactus painting then when scanned it went much darker. Hmmmmm

European Goldfinch

Wednesday Animal is a bird. I like birds so I draw and paint them often. Mike at Fen Photography Blog takes fablous pictures of birds in his part of the world. They often cause me to stop and paint one.

Magnolia Bud

With Teri and Beckie's encouragement I painted the magnolia bud. It won't be long and we will have blooms to paint too.
