Thankful Thursday - ABC ATCs etc

My Dear Readers, I guess you think I have fallen off the blogasphere but it is not so.  I have just been a busy bee this spring in the garden.  This being the day many of us give thanks for the items we have received from one another I must say that I have some lovely atcs to show you.

The first is from Soulbrush.  I just love her people. They have so much character and this one is not an exception. She reminds me of myself when I am trying to jog...if you get the picture.  Ha... It came in the sweet card with Snuffles on the front. Another great thing about Soul is that she is so generous with her little goodies that are usually enclosed with her cards.  Thanks so much Soul.

Next I want to thank Gina. She made a Puffin card for our ABC ATC exchange. She knows I love birds and the puffin is a truly special bird.
Her puffin card came in a hand made card also by Gina, aka BT The Crafty Gardener. I don't know how she does it but the card is so special. It has little fishes on it like the puffin might eat.  Thank you so much Gina.
Then just today I received a wonderful ABC ATC from Lynn who is teaching us how to read Hebrew Letters.  This one is Pe the seventeenth letter in the Hebrew alphabet.  I am so glad she put which way is up as I have no idea how it was supposed to look.  All of her letters are so colorful.
The other card that was in with the Pe was a Personal Assistant card encouraging me to help someone in need. It is funny that you sent this today. It is Earth day and I was thinking about how the earth needs all of us to help it out.  Not to worry, I also help people. Thank you so much Lynn.
Thank you all for sharing your art and thank everyone for having patience with me and my obsession. After this weekend life should go back to a more normal pace.  I hope to be posting more regularly and doing more art.  Yayyy

Blooming Tuesday - Daffodils and Narcissus

I have bought one of those big (8 1/4" x 11 3/4") watercolor Moleskine sketchbooks.  I have always been afraid to do this because they are first of all expensive and secondly those big white pages scare the waddin out of me.  I decided to pull up my big girl britches and do the deed.  After having it awhile I decided that flowers in the garden would be the theme of this book.  Of course I have been known to fall off the theme wagon a time or two so we will see.

My first pages are about the daffodils and narcissus that are or have been blooming in the garden this spring. It is a little difficult to photograph something so large and it is way too large for the scanner.
After I did what I thought was all of the Daffodils then the Narcissus started blooming.  I wanted them all on the same page. You can see that some aren't finished.
If the heat of the day keeps it up I will be working more on art than working in the garden.  I am wanting to get all of the names for the different flowers on the page too.  The only bad thing about that is that I can't find the names of each one.  I have looked through garden journals and found that I am not a very thorough record keeper.  I am vowing to do better at that too.
I hope you all are having a good Blooming Tuesday.  What is blooming in your garden?

Animal Wednesday - Hybrid Duck

While we were out birding yesterday we found this odd looking duck amongst a large migrating flock. It's reddish bill is what caught my attention first. It had a big white area on its side.  It is obviously a hybrid but we can't decide just what mix it is.  I had to paint a portrait of it so I could rememeber what it looked like. Happy Animal Wednesday to you all. I hope you see some interesting sights this spring.

Blooming Tuesday - Daffodils

Daffodils have never been prettier than this year I do believe. I have kept a bouquet of them inside for several days. It has been wonderful to be able to pick fresh flowers from the garden. Happy Blooming Tuesday to all.

Thankful Thursday - Colorful Postcard

I received this lovely postcard from Patty.  She combined almost all of the colors I saw while shopping the other day.  I think I bought a tee shirt in about every color. Ha.  Thanks so much Patty. I really like all of these colors.  This is one of the postcards from the Global Greetings Mail Art group that I am participating in.  It has been such fun. You can go here to see many more great postcards.
Even though Steviewren thinks I get mail every day that isn't the case.  Every day lately I have been in the garden, weather permiting. Weather has been very kind lately.  I brought a few forsythia sprigs in.  They are doing well in a small vase.
The bright yellow of the forsythia brought on this haiku.

I hope your days are full of sunshine.  Your comments also fills my days with sunshine. Thank you all for stopping by and taking the time to leave a few words.  All of your words together make the most beautiful bouquets.
