I want to use this blog as a sound board so to speak. I am hoping to paint more, therefore improve my painting.
If you have any suggestions I wouldn't mind hearing it. I want to learn to paint better with watercolors.
My problem so far is that my paintings appear to be paint by number. I want to learn to do a more loose painting. Then when I let go and let it flow I get all nerved up and start straightening. UGH
Often I choose subjects that are originally a photograph. This was painted from a photo by Sherry at Q's Corner. She takes manyportrait pictures of birds in her garden. I like simple subjects for time being and bird portraits are a good challenge for me.
I also draw some and use colored pencils so this won't just be watercolors. I dabble in poetry too so this should be a fun site with mixed media. I hope you will drop me a comment. I would love to hear what you think about my endeavors.

Dear Lisa,
Congratulations on your "Artsy Endeavors". Your new blog looks so pretty. I am excited for you and me! I get to come and see your paintings and hopefully read your poetry. I love your watercolors just like they are! I know nothing about painting but I think the chain alone shows how wonderful you are! You captured little Chickadee's personality too.
Looking forward to seeing your craft unfold.
This will be fun!
Sherry
Thank you Sherry. I will be watching your blog for more inspiration.
Beautiful painting. You do great work. Thanks for sharing.
Alright Lisa! Great start! And I lie the pic of you. I chicken there. Since I, too, know nothing about painting (except I know what I like!) I will be in your cheering section. The chickadee is beautiful!
Lisa,
Great idea! Love your paintings, it's nice to know that you are having a separate blog, hope your poetry could be found here too! :)
Love from Peru,
Mel
p.s. I could never paint as good as you, that chickadee looks amazing!
Congrats on your new blog. You definitely are a gifted artist.
I'll be peaking in to admire your artwork.
Lisa: Congrats on another blog. I don't know much about watercolors but I surely like this one with one of my favorite little feathered friends --the black cap chickadee.
I just started taking oil painting classes last November- something I've wanted to do all my life and finally got around to it. I'm loving it- such great therapuetic value and design outlet for me--much like gardening.
I'll check back and I look forward to your photos and poetry.

Beautiful watercolour of the little chickadee Lisa. Looking forward to visiting your "new blog" and seeing all your creative work.
Congrats on the new site. Will visit again soon as I think it holds a lot of promise for beautiful viewing!
I am so excited that you have started an artsy blog :) This is an adorable chickadee and I don't think he looks paint by number AT ALL.
My suggestions is to sketch everyday and you can't help but learn and improve. And you have such a wonderful garden full of subjects. I have been sketching everyday (started with nature sketches) for going on three years and even I can see improvement. I admit to having a lot of sketches I never show anyone but it is on the way to learning.
Carry a small sketchbook with you and never let an opportunity pass by. I am finally loosening up enough to try fast sketching and actually putting them on my blog :)
Thank you all for your encouraging words. I will be posting here from time to time. I am hoping to watch my drawing improve as I have seen others on line improve their drawing and painting skills. Every day does matter.
Teri I will get a sketchbook in my bag pronto. I am signed up with a drawing group that gives prompts to help me stay motivated. I can become slack very easily. In the past I have drawn and painted in spurts and that is no way to improve as I forget lessons learned from time to time.
Lisa, your blog is beautiful, and I love your work, especially this little chickadee. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your art and poetry. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
