I did a garden tour last weekend and I saw this beautiful cactus sitting in a sunny location. I couldn't resist those beautiful pink blossoms. I gave it a try. I don't know what kind of cactus it is. I just know it is a pretty one.
Atlantic Puffin is the sketch for today. I found this in my sketchbook. I was going to do a birthday card for a friend that likes puffins. I was just getting a feel for the bird with this sketch. The card turned out much different, colorful for one thing. HAW
Hello Cactuteers. It is another Happy Cactus Monday. I saw a large iron pot full of Prickly Pear Cactus this weekend. It was actually blooming so I tried to paint one of the blooms. They were yummy.
I am always seeing pictures of animals that I really enjoy. I try to capture the feeling. I just love the picture that inspired this painting. You can see it on Gintonio's blog here. He has a couple of cats in his garden and they are featured on his blog occasionally. I made his kitty much fatter in this picture. Sorry kitty. None of us like to look fatter in pictures. Ha...
I saw this as a photo on Pam's blog awhile back. I just loved the colors and I just love lizards so I thought I would give it a try. It is done in watercolors. This green anole was on an agave in Pam's garden. She takes the best pictures.
I found a pictures of a clump of Barrel Cactus. I tried to do a loose painting. It failed. I must try again. This painting turned out looking like a bunch of squash rather than cactus. Geez. This just shows me that I need to take more time and think through what I should do.
This animal Wedensday I am submitting a sketch I made while waiting for a friend to get ready to go out. Her dog was lying near me and I wanted to sketch him. He kept moving so I only got parts of parts completed.
