We had lots of excitement this weekend. We hear about an Ancient Murrelet and a Little Gull being seen at Tiscorni Park, St Joseph, MI. I didn't need much encouragement to jump into the car for the 5.5hour drive to try to see it. Luckily both birds were viewed at close range even if not for long. This is the sketch I did on the way home. The Ancient Murrelet was a bird I had only seen one other time and the Little Gull was a Lifer (never seen before). Yipeee.....

Wow you are a real life Birder. Thats a long way to go see a couple birds. Love the drawing. I hope you got some pictures to share.
Lisa...you are just amazing, 5.5 hour drive. You are an inspiration.
I am so pleased that you saw the Ancient Murrelet and Little Gull. Your sketch is a lovely reminder of the adventure.......
So happy for you you didn't drive all the way for nothing!
Great sketch you did!
Did you make that trip all in one day? What a very cool drawing; I'm so glad they were waiting for you to sketch them!
catching up here...wonderful pictures all. love the frog below here too.
Bird the little gull is so darling, it gives people the energy to fly high and be positive...I love your painting, so comfortable that I feel sudden comfort in midst of business!
Thanks and happy cactus monday Lisa:)
I've met a few birders and you really all go the distance! I'm impressed - it is so cool to see rare things up close. I felt honored that I got to see that blue heron here in AK and I wasn't even looking for him!
I am impressed also...you love of birds is so evident in your art...nice sketch! :)
I knew you were a birder, but I didn't realized how dedicated you are until now. There is nothing like seeing something amazing with your own eyes is there?
