Our Buckeye shrub developed its first buckeyes this year. It was a nice surprise to go out there and find them on the ground. I had been watching the pod to see when they might drop. The buckeyes are about the same size as the tree buckeyes but the "eye" on the seed is smaller and they are a few shades lighter in color. If you want a tropical look in your northern garden this shrub will give you that feel.

Very striking pages. The thumbnail in my sidebar caught my attention immediately.
Neat page Lisa. I'm not sure I have sent these before. Love the way you illustrated them.
Nicely done, Lisa!! Love the strong graphic feel of the page, and especially the buckeyes.
Lisa your painting is supurb! I Love the shadows by the seeds and the huge leaves. So pretty. So well done!!!!
This is awesome. I thought at first the seeds were real sitting in front of the painting. wow. We planted a buckeye tree a few years ago. Slow growing thing but it gets the prettiest red flowers on it.
Utterly gorgeous. Your journal painting is amazing. I admire your talent.
This whole page/s is beautiful. THe seed pods are great!!!
I've never seen a Buckeye bush before. It's interesting.
You are getting better at every new page. How is that possible, you were alreay very good !
WOW!!!!!!! One of your best ever! I love the blues in the leaves.
This is really awesome Lisa!♥
What a lovely page! I didn't know there was a buckeye shrub, I'm only familiar with the tree. Wonderful leaves and I love the way the buckeyes add weight to the composition.
Hmmmm very interesting. Strange name too! Love your artwork.
I had no idea these came in shrubs. In England they use the nuts for a game called Conkers. We have a tree in our yard... I really like your painting. You've captured the leaves perfectly.
This is a really elegant spread...Love your graceful composition...It sings! :)
