After a couple of heavy frosts I was surprised to find a Broad-headed bug still out and about. It appeard to be having a bit of breakfast on the fern frond. HAW to all.

He was treating himself to a feast in honor of having made it through the frosty weather. Too bad he doesn't know that it isn't over yet.

Your idea about the wine party was a good one...maybe I should call it a whine party though....wah, wah, wah....I hate taking wallpaper down.

I guess if he makes it thru that he deserves a meal on your plant. :)) Good job on sketch.

yes, a great sketch - love a bug sketch as opposed to an actual bug

Yes, Mim is right, better a great sketch than the real bug!

Hi Lisa...amazing to see a bug after a frost. I haven't seen any for a couple of weeks.

I love your artwork, it must be so special to have a collection of plants, butterflies and bugs that have visited.

Never heard of a "broad headed bug" but if it exists you would know! Nice drawing.

The enlarged photos of your work are a real treat. Totally amazing. I am glad for this intrepid soul. He is my inspiration now, too!

You are really good at capturing bugs in your paintings. And you always seem to get that little nuance - like the leaf curled up on the end. Really neat.

You could make me love bugs!

Your watercolor sketches remind me so much of a few books I have by naturalists. They have a charm about them that make me feel at ease with life.
