National Geographic is a magazine that I dearly love. It takes me all over the world. The photos and articles keep me informed about the world. It has articles about the natural world that I find interesting. This month is no exception. They have an article about one of my favorite things...Feathers. The evolution of feather to be exact.
In this article they had several fossils from all over of the "Beasts" that had feathers. Of course the artist's renditions of the beasts are something to behold.
My favorite is the Epidexipteryx or commonly called the Jurasic Peacock in the article. The photo above was taken of this fossil and artists rendition of the beast from the magazine.
Below is my interpretation of the fossil and the artist's rendition.

I love your interpretation of the 'jurasic' creature.
I love fossils....I found one in the garden on a stone. It looked liked a large beetle. I sent it to Sherry as I thought she may enjoy it......
BTW I love National Geographic, and often buy secondhand copies in the local junk shop....amazing articles, amazing photography.
Very good sketch and sculpture. Looks just like it. All it needs is a little aging.. I wont tell it isnt the real thing. :))
What a great idea! You've been very inventive creating your "fossil". I'm one of those National Geographic hoarders and am always buying piles of old copies to tear up for collage.
Nat'l Geo's are the BEST magazines to cut up for Soul Collages! I'm sure I just made you crings at that :)

We cut some real fossils of fish out of rocks on one our summer treks to be found SOMEWHERE on my blog I am sure! ;-)

A pre historic peacock! WOW didn't know that existed...... just made a peacock mandala, but I still have to color it.

This is really good. You do seem to like animals, bugs and insects. We used to get National Geographic when I was a kid. It is a great magazine.
