Animal Wednesday - Snow Animals

I'm going to apologize right up front becasue this is a picture heavy post, so if you don't have time or inclination you can move on and it won't hurt my feelings.
What got me so engrossed with photos is that we got a spring snow Monday. It brought the birds and animals into the feeders.
The squirrels don't need any encouragement but they took full advantage of the situation.
Blue Jays aren't at the feeders every day. They too took advantage of seeds that weren't covered with snow.

The poor robins didn't like the beginnin of the day. The ground, their major source of food was under about 2 inches of snow. Not to worry by the time we returned from the park the ground was thawing and bright green grass was showing.
The Grackles and Doves didn't wait for any such thaw. They tromped the snow for seeds.
House sparrows weren't detered from their spring mating rituals. This Mrs was telling the Mr that she was ready for spring despite the snow.
After we looked over the garden we headed for the park.
It was like driving through a winter wonderland.
Luna and I hopped out of the truck to extend our walk. The view from the road to the Wabash River was picturesque this morning.
We met my DB at the intersection.
Then walked together to the big open space we walk around that constitutes a good portion of the walk. Since there wasn't much worry that there would be any traffic this morning I decided to let Luna run free.
She loves to be allowed to run to her hearts content when it is cold and snowy. Do you see her?
Here, let me zoom in for you.
Aahhhhh yes, nothing like an early morning run in the snow.
Here I am Gize. Thanks for the romp. I feel so good.
I hope you all have blue skies and a good romp this week too. HAW.

Hi Lisa,

Not to long, never boring and Luna has my heart. Dear sweet Luna. I do so love to see a dog happy and running free.

You look cosy and snug in your winter walking gear Lisa. The surrounding countryside looks wonderful and your garden visitors are a treat to view.

Stay warm.......

Winter Wonderland is right!!! So gorgeously frozen adn white. Luna loves the cold air and snow. I notice Doozey gets invigorated too when it is colder. So sweet. Thanks for telling me about the pics on my blog. I fixed them. I just cannot publish on the Blogger app anymore (on my phone)...too much trouble. :(

Have a fun time in the cool/cold while it lasts. Love all the birdies!!!

What a beautiful walk you took. I love seeing the birds feeding and mating...the dog lost in the color of his fur in snow. Beautiful. You too all bundled up. What lovely surroundings you have. No, not too many photos for me at all. Loved them all. Thanks.

Gosh Lisa! We didn't get nearly that much snow! Ours turned the grass white but melted off by lunch time.
I love seeing all these birds. Yep, there were too many shots to paint them all, so photos it will have to be. I've joined a birding Meetup but I haven't gone on any hikes yet. Soon.

Oh these were a delight to see. All of them. Even you in a photo and Luna. I love the woodpecker one in the end. We didnt get enough snow to satisfy me this year. a little more would have been nice and then melt off the next day. :)) Thanks for sharing these. Its Animal Wednesday too.

Such a beautiful walk!
Lucky you having so much snow. It doesn't feel as though we've had a Winter here (and we LOVE Winter).
Luna looks like she loves the snow too. So nice to have a spot where she can run free.

These were wonderful to view. You have the blue jays too! The lane is beautiful. I would want to just stand there. And Luna looks like had a blast.

Luna should come visit Alaska - she would love it here! I love freshly fallen snow, it makes the whole world a prettier place...then I don't like it so much a day or two later. Oh well.
