Going Places, A New Journal

There is so much blooming here at Greenbow. It has been a fun spring so far. I have been so busy in the garden I haven't been able to post but I have tried to keep up with everyone else's posts.  I feel like the garden is prepared to meet summer.
It is just in time because I am soon going to go on a little vacation. You know what that means for me. I had to have a new journal to keep my trip in.
This journal has several details that please me. The crocheted piece on the front was sent to me by a dear friend. I just love it and I wanted to use in this way. I thought it quite appropriate becasue the trip I am going on is a garden tour. These little crocheted flowers and butterfly fit the theme of the trip. I couldn't stop myself. I had to add a little bling to it. I added some beads
On the tie that closes the journal I also added beads. Beads make me happy.
The nuts and bolts of the inside is good. I have some 140# Arches WC paper as well as some writing paper. I thought the brown writing paper good as it symbolizes soil to me.
I made little pockets to store receipts, pamphlets and other items, from the left over end papers.
This stripe was the back end paper.
I hope you have some fun summer vacation to look forward to too.

Darn new blogger settings are driving me crazy. Sorry about the double post. I even lost some of the original posting. CRAZY.

I love that you can make your own journals. I need to learn how. But then where do you get your paper from? A fun trip does deserve a new fun journal book and this looks like a nice one. how big is it? Love the Beads too.
I am getting used to the new blogger now. But not these PROVE YOUR NOT A ROBOT words to copy.. arrgh.

Love your journal, Lisa!!! The beads really add so much! Hope you have a grand trip...and glad your garden is doing well. We were talking yesterday about a few places in north Florida we hope to visit...a cave and a state park in Wakulla with springs and glass bottom boats. Hopefully before it gets too hot.
Enjoy your trip and hope you make loads of art!!!

Ooo, I LOVE this journal!!! The beads are a wonderful touch, and I love them on my books too. How exciting - a garden tour. Can't wait to see what comes from this.
I wish I could say my garden is ready for summer - it's SO not.

Love this lots. I have been unable to leave comments on your blog for some time now- as I told you- it lets me open it and read it but not scroll donw to comment. So i have gone in via Teri's comments and hey it works- wahoo. Glad you are enjoying your yard work, I know you love it at this time of year (or is it that you have to do it?) Often think of you dear friend. Lotsa xxxx

Beads make me happy too! I love making my own journals and I think your choices are awesome. Hearing the reasoning behind your choices makes it that much more special as well. Arches is a great paper, and I like the idea of having a separate page to write on. My plans for next time.

I hope your vacation time is relaxing yet creatively inspirational!

I need a new journal too (although I still have a few I haven't touched yet!) I hope your trip is wonderful! About blogger - I have the hardest time trying to figure out where I need to go to update a post or check something once I've posted - I know I will get used to it eventually, but it seems like it was working fine before...why change?
