Mushroom hunt

I went on a mushroom walk weekend before last. I didn't realize that there are people that like to hunt  mushrooms as much I like to look for birds. It was such fun being with such a group. The leader of the group was Dr Andrew Methven from Eastern Illinois University. It was a blast.
I saw mushrooms that I have only seen in books before. Those people can really spot those mushrooms in the forest duff.

Fun thing to hunt for. Not sure I would want to eat them even so. I am chicken. Great drawing. To funny how you and Teri did mushrooms today.

I really enjoy this type of sketch. (sketches from the diary of a naturalist). Whenever we go to the Drakensberg I love to photograph the different mushrooms in the forest. Like you I was always interested in the birds but now I love to find fungi as well.

Hi Lisa! I saw Teri's blog and had to chuckle at your both writing and drawing mushrooms!
I think I would like going along on a hike like yours....I don't know much about mushrooms (except I like to eat the non-poison ones)! A-ha-ha!

Did you ever see that Black Skimmer again?

Big Hugs,

Wow!! great depth in this sketch!!

Wild mushrooms scare me. I know how quickly you can go into liver failure. Strange too think about it. Who would guess? You'd really have to know your stuff.

Isn't that neat? I think it would be super fun to hunt mushrooms. Great drawing once again.

wow! your painting is so realistic - I had to enlarge it to look at the nut hull. Very well done - the shading is really good. I'm enjoying going around to everyone's blogs and seeing a variety of mushrooms. How fun that you all had the same idea!

I have to agree with Art Propelled on the sketches from a naturalist's journal—very cool, Lisa! It sounds like it was a lot of fun too!
