We have been on the road quite a bit this past month or so. These are the pages I did for our trip to Michigan.
We had such a good time. One the drive there we stopped at a cemetery to look for Crossbills that had been reported there. We did see them but it was a hurried stop. There was a quaint chapel there in the cemetery and there were many tombstones that would make for great sketching. I didn't have time for much.
While in Michigan I got to visit a garden blogging friends. That is always a treat.
Seeing those big windmills is always mindboggling. I can't imagine having one in my neighborhood even though they don't seem to make much noise. Just the presence of these giganitc machines is intimidating to me. Of course I see objects that give me ideas, like the gourd with stones on it made into a fairy house. Hmmm I believe I have some gourds sitting around waiting for some attention.
What is capturing your attention today??

Lovely trip! Have no idea what a gourd is, must look that up the funny house looks like something out of a fairy tale......
Happy you had a goof time at your trip ♥
I admire those who can sketch well, and, of course, that applies to you!
thanks for visiting me
Hi Lisa,
I love the idea of a travel journal,
but then I would have to travel, wouldn't I?
Really enjoyed this post♥
Maybe, just maybe 2013 will be the year I fill a journal!
Love the sketches, Lisa.
When we drove cross-country coming back here I have to say those wind turbines were intimidating when seen in groups. They're massive!! And so many migrating birds lose their lives flying into them. Still, energy efficiency is better with them. I so long for simpler times when we didn't have these decisions to make.♥
I wrote a comment a few hours ago and it wouldn't accept it, so here goes again. I love all gourds, they are just wonderful and practical in Africa too. Great little sketches, hope you are keeping warm and snug my friend. xxx
Your trip looked like a lot of fun. It's great that you include the stops you made and what you ate. Happy Birthday to Bruce too!
Lisa, thank you for stopping to visit my blog when I am just awful about visiting my wonderful blogland friends. Happy holidays, and I hope the new year brings you much prosperity and happiness. Sending love from NYC! Hugs!
