March Happenings

It was an exciting day for the world's Catholics this week. A new Pope was elected. The election and all the hub bub about the process got my muse going.
This week we went out to try to see the Comet. It is no wonder it didn't get a lot of press. It was not impressive. You definitely had to have some optics to see it around here. We took our binoculars and telescope out to look for it. A good thing too that we had a telescope. It was very faint. It was a beautiful night to be out. There were plenty of stars until the clouds rolled in.
I hope you all have a great weekend.

My week was like yours! Deeply moved by Francis I's words and prayers...and face... plus - the *Papal Seagull* who *seemed to know*!
Your sketch captures our new Pope wonderfully!

I love the Moon/Comet sketch....but as you know, I didn't get to see it. The night the viewing was supposed to be the best, we in SF, were socked in with THICK FOG! The next night, through crystal clear, did not reveal the Comet! Darn! At least I have your lovely sketch to look at!

Love,

Love your sketch of the Pope!

The comet was supposed to be well seen in AZ,,,not! We went out everynight and couldn't see a thing.
I keep wondering why March is so busy.....

Your Pope was great, Lisa. I envy you having talent like this. ;)

I was able to see the comet with binoculars just a bit after sunset a few days ago. I'd much rather have them visible when it's very dark at night.

To be quite honest oth events passed by without much of my attention. But I was in South Africa and on my travels I never watch tv.
I hope the new pope is just as nice man as your drawing.
Winter cold but the sun is shining so I will go out for a small walk with the doggies.
Hope your week has been fine

Dear Lisa - happened onto your blog...looks like you enjoy the same things I do. You have some lovely sketches of the witch hazel and crocus. Enjoyed my visit. Have a great day.

Hi Lisa, I just discovered your blog and see that you are from Indiana, I was born and raised a Hoosier, but I haven't lived there since 1964. I say that you can take the girl out of Indiana, but you can never get Indiana out of her heart. One of the things that I miss most is lightening bugs, we do not have them out here.
I too, love to get my hands messy in all sorts of different art projects and I like to blog about them. I'm a wife, mother, and grandma . . . retired and enjoying every day the good Lord sends my way. I am your newest follwer and I would be delighted if you would follow me back. I have met the nicest people in blog-land :)
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
