Early this April I was out walking with friends and we came upon a huge Crawdad claw lying right beside a crawdad mound. It was such a pretty color lying there in the muck.
Happy Animal Wednesday.
What have you been seeing this spring while you are out and about?

wow - this is a great sketch and a gorgeous color.
This is wonderful! I'll bet it really stood out in the muck. Glad you found it!
You are one of the few artista who cam make a Crawdad Claw look magical! (A few of the others have already commented!) What a great find...
I also love your written words..so descriptive!
As you know, we have had an earlier Spring than most of the country..I am eagerly awaiting the birth of five Cygnets...and yesterday, while *visiting* their parents...came upon two Geese who just had four Goslings! So sweet and innocent..
I am thrilled Spring is finally there with you!!!!!
Love,

Um I had to go to google to find out what this is... I am such a city gal! Happy painting and I know you love your garden as the weather gets springlike- Here it is really still Wintery.Ugh.
Hey Lisa! Great sketch and love how you write on page too! I am loving all the birds right now down here, and we saw a beautiful colorful rooster under a tree beside a restaurant we were at in Okeechobbe, Florida last weekend. Beautiful skies and clouds here this time of year. You always inspire me to try more drawing! I need to make time. You are the sweetest!

I haven't heard of Animal Wednesday - I love the idea - and the creative way you incorporated the crawdad claw. Very clever!
I love the crawdad claw sketch and the delicate colours. Your nature journals must be lovely to browse through.
What a beautiful picture of that claw! I have been walking a lot lately and saw a lot but I had to keep going so no time for pictures. I am training for a march. But I think I won't make it as my knee is injured and keeping me behind in my schedule.
Today I walked 5.8 miles. saw 1 young horse and one new born pony Mom was rolling in the grass. Saw little lambs.
Hope I will be inspired to paint something soon........
Finally we have spring here. YEAH!

I've gone hunting for crawdads while teaching a class to first graders at the local park but never have found any! When I do find one, I will make sure to pay attention to its beautiful colors. gail
