Cactus Monday - Prickly Pear

Hello Cactuteers. It is another Happy Cactus Monday. I saw a large iron pot full of Prickly Pear Cactus this weekend. It was actually blooming so I tried to paint one of the blooms. They were yummy.

This is just beautiful Lisa. The colors and whole composition! I didn't get around much yesterday to see it. I think I had the 'grands are gone blues'.

Lisa, I always enjoy seeing your impressions of things. I like the varied colors of the bloom-shadows and brightness. Doesn't it amaze you that these cacti grow in our areas?

Teri, I can see why you would have the blues with your Grands leaving. They are beautiful little girls and I am sure they light up your life when they are with you.

Beckie, I am amazed that these cacti grow in our area. They seem so Southwestern and they are actually native to our area. The kettle full was beautiful. IT was about to overflow and the blooms were spectacular.

this is spectacular! Love your painting of the prickly pear. I have a bar of handmade prickly pear soap a fellow blogger mailed to me -- from now on, each time I use it, I will envision this lovely, soft painting.

Wonderful painting! I just did a prickly pear in Forever Youngs mandala , so for a while I was absorbed by them. After painting somthing I always keep a special feeling for it, as if it will always be a little part of my life.
That's why I like it a lot to find the prickly pear here, and so well done , so soft........
