Animal Wednesday - Monarch Chrysalis

HAW to all of you that are enjoying this Wednesday as Animal Wednesday. I guess this little fellow qualifies as an animal. It is a Monarch chrysalis. We had several in the front garden this year. We took some pictures of its metamorphosis from caterpillar to this. I always wonder what chemical makes those golden dots on the chrysalis. This is the only creature that Iam aware of that can make gold. This is one of the atc's I made with my new toys.

You know, I never noticed the gold before and you have designed it wonderfully.

And it sure does qualify for AW.

I'm still curious to see the current status of the paint set, or at least when you are all said and done, now that it's not all squeaky clean. That could be a good compare and contrast. And don't forget, Everglades is a great place for water colors, if you ever get the chance. Periodically I see people set up an aisle on the side of the road on my way to work.

That's really neat. I just found a fuzzy caterpiller yesterday-really really fuzzy-so maybe a cool winter? I put him on the pepper plant so he could spin up .

Butterflies are amazing! The town I live in (Pacific Grove, CA) is considered to be butterfly town. The Monarchs migrate here every October and we have a parade in their honor!! Google it and check it out!
Wonderful drawing btw :)
