Cactus Monday

Okay okay, I know, I'm almost late and this isn't a cactus. However if you look closely at this Iron Cross Begonia you can see its spiny personality coming out of the leaves. The stems are just as prickly looking. I hope you all had a Happy Cactus Monday anyway.

The one cactus that truly amazes me is the prickly pear. It literally finds a way to live and thrive everywhere I have live: from Arizona (obvious), to Cape Cod, to south Florida ... and even to a recent trip to East Texas.

Lisa, I love the way you think! Just like me, 'make it work' and it does. Really a wonderful looking plant.

HCM and glad you made it.

Robert Prickly Pear is actually a native here in Indiana. I bet it was strange to be traveling through here years ago and find it growing. I wonder what the pioneers thought about finding a field of prickly pear.

Thanks Teri. I wanted to join in but didn't have a cactus done. I need a trip to AZ to get some inspiration.
