Fall leaves

Speaking of leaves. I found our first fall-looking leaf this week while at the park. It just sat there on the edge of the road looking surprised at being tossed to the ground. It won't be long now. Fall is creeping in.

This is so pretty! I LOVE the fall but it will be awhile before it takes hold here yet.

Scary isn't it? autumn is sneaking in on fast feet. I have been seeing lots of color on plants near the ground.

Very pretty leaf Lisa.

It always comes as a surprise to me to find a fall leave in the heat of summer, a reminder that hot days won't last much longer.

Now that is one early leaf!

It was 90++++ degrees HOT here today.
No fall in sight.
Figs just now beginning to ripen.
Fall is far away.

Pretty painting of the one lone fall leaf.

I also have seen a few leaves turning. The sumac in the woods is just beginning to turn. It has been a cool, wet summer with a few very hot and humid days thrown in.
I hope it is a cool Autumn. I have work to do outside!
Lovely leaf....

Beautifully memorialized here! I feel sorry for those trees nearest roads and sidewalks who lose their leaves first. Seems like they miss out on a bit of summer.

Our birches are turning yellow here, too.

Beautiful, Lisa.

Bite your tongue. I'm not ready for fall yet. The fireweed have bloomed and gone to seed here, that's our first sign of fall.

No - say it's not true. I actually see some signs too here. Not ready.
