I have been so blessed this year by being able to meet fellow bloggers. When Teri of Teri's Painted Daisies mentioned that she was coming to IN to her niece's wedding I started lobbying for a visit. I didn't want to miss this window of opportunity. Teri, Erv, Gary and I met at the Gasthof for dinner. Gosh I think we ate...we were so busy talking I hardly remember eating.
As we were leaving the restaurant we were greeted by this lovely carriage and horse that we could have had a free ride in but we were anxious to get on over to the auction. When you meet someone you just don't have time to do all you want.
The fancy carriage at the restaurant was just one of many we were to see parked at the auction house. The Amish don't really like to have their pictures taken so we respected them by not taking their picture.
However the horses didn't really seem to mind. There were all sorts of buggies. Open buggies.
There were enclosed buggies.
Who ever had this buggy was young or young at heart they had fuzzy dice and a lei hanging in the window. You notice too that the buggies have some lights on them. At night they are almost impossible to see on the road. There have been several deaths in their community so they did succumb to the modern convience of lights for their buggies to protect themselves.
I hated to see the evening come to an end. Teri is the most delightful person. Such a talented and friendly person. Teri and I had a good time sitting in the auction house sketching all the interesting people. I also sketched a few items that were up for auction. I will post more about that later. I am now looking forward to meeting again today to give Teri a tour of the garden. Luna doesn't want to miss out on the meeting either. Hopefully we can squeeze in some sketching between conversation and I will get my DB to take a photo of us together. We just didn't think about that last evening. So much to talk about and to sketch...

I agree that meeting fellow bloggers in person is wonderful!
I've had TWO visits with Cris now.
Short, but sweet.
Nice that you and Teri could spend so much time together.
That one buggy looked like the Hummer of buggies. LOL
Such great pics!!! I can only imagine the art chatter that went on at your table! What grand fun!!!
aaw what a happy photo, and what good legs that gal has! love the fact that you met and your sunset is a prefect ending to it all, can't wait for pics of you and her in the garden. hugs xxx wish we could meet one day...sigh..
That is so nice. What an opportunity. I wish I could see a picture of you ladies sketching together. That must have been a lot of fun. Nothing like a shared talent and interest.
The fuzzy dice made me laugh. And I loved the sunset.
gosh, this sounds like such a wonderful visit and day. I remember our visit to Ontario and, although I did sneak off just one shot of a fellow and his horse 'in the fast track' in the rain, heading home I didn't photograph them either. That shot? It barely turned out so he'd be pleased!
How great that you two got to meet up! I sure love your hair, Lisa! It is such a perfect shade!! Mine still has some brown mixed in and looks more "dirty"! Yours just shines in the light!!!
I can hardly wait to see the sketches you did at the auction.
oh that's so great! Great pictures and I love your hair a bit longer. Looking forward to the garden pictures
What a gift of an evening. Thank you for sharing the fun time with all of us. Love those horses. And the picture in the restaurant is so lively.
What a great post and what a wonderful time you had. I can't wait to see the sketches. Those buggies are wonderful, did you buy one?? lol. How exciting that Teri's coming back to see your garden too. Great post Lisa.
Wow! Lisa, indeed you are so blessed. How I hope that I could meet up with you, Teri and the rest of the gang to talk about things that we like!!!!!
I have now read Teri's post and you clearly had a great time when she visited your house. Luna is beautiful.
That's so great that you got to meet a blogger friend! Can't wait to see more pics!
