My first pages are about the daffodils and narcissus that are or have been blooming in the garden this spring. It is a little difficult to photograph something so large and it is way too large for the scanner.
After I did what I thought was all of the Daffodils then the Narcissus started blooming. I wanted them all on the same page. You can see that some aren't finished.
If the heat of the day keeps it up I will be working more on art than working in the garden. I am wanting to get all of the names for the different flowers on the page too. The only bad thing about that is that I can't find the names of each one. I have looked through garden journals and found that I am not a very thorough record keeper. I am vowing to do better at that too.
I hope you all are having a good Blooming Tuesday. What is blooming in your garden?

Just LOVE those daffodils, Lisa! Very well done! You're off to a great start and I look forward to seeing what you do now that you've pulled out the "big girl britches!" LOL!
you have captured so well the simple shapes of daffodils and narcissus
Oh I love these 'daffy dills'. I too start theme books and dont keep them up. I hope you do. A very good start to it here.
Your flowers look good. Nice adventure you are beginning. I have fallen off the art wagon altogether, I'm afraid. Other chores becon at present. Keep up the good work.
You are funny Lisa. These are all beauteous!! Wish I could say we had some in AZ but I'm hoping my daughter's are blooming when I get there.
What lovely daffodils...your sketches are wonderful! I like the idea of seeing flowers from your garden! Genius idea!!!
Hello Lisa! I love your Dafs and Narcs! Hope you manage to keep up with the theme (I have several similar sketchbooks - unfinished). Looking forward to seeing many more pages!
What do you have to fear??? Your sketchs are lovely!!!
Great new beginning for your new book.daffodils are always so cheerful.Good for you for getting the new journal.
Wow! Wow! Wow! These blossoms are so so so beautiful! I am so proud of you Lisa.
Now, I learn the true beauty of daffodils from your heartfelt illustration.
Thanks, it's very moving, I fall in love with them all.
Keep going, keep going Lisa!
I'm glad you pulled your big girl britches up because this is a lovely start to that Moleskine!
Are you complaining about the heat already? A few weeks ago you were complaining about the cold. You can't have it both ways my dear ;)
(I've been the same way although it's too chilly here now!)
I have a Moleskine that size which I bought a year ago. It has one sketch in it :(
Maybe I'll get inspired!
So beautiful, wonderful start. I know what you mean about the wagon, have fallen off one or two in my time as well. Keep it up, it's great!
Hi Lisa....I do love the first page of your garden flower book.
I am hopeless at keeping the names of the plants that I buy. Each year I promise myself I will do better next year....I never do.
Your Daffys and Narcissus are great! Moleskine's scare me too. I have one in my purse which I rarely sketch in because I'm not happy with the quality of my sketches...go figure...it's made for on the go practice sketches. I need to get over it!
Oh my Daffodils are in full bloom too! And my favorite part is watching how their blooms face in one direction in the morning and another at the end of the day. Thanks for sharing, it was lovely to get a peak in your sketchbook.
What lovely pages!!
Courageous to work big and new things ;)
But the start is great!
Not much blooming here yet , yes the daffodils, forget me not camelias and anemones. Well that sounds like much allready!
But everything is growing now and the trees have buds.
Yes!!!
Enjoy your garden Lisa!
Absolutely beautiful. I am glad you splashed out on the big quality paper. Your artist deserves it. And I am certainly loving it!
Such a happy, bright collection with these cheery flowers. You must have them all over your place. I have a few but when the tulips start blooming, then there will be massive color!
"I decided to pull up my big girl britches and do the deed." Hilarious!!! So well said!
This book is going to be magnificent...What a gorgeous spread Lisa...Love every inch of it! :)
My goodness, I love what you did with the daffs here. Wow. I am glad you bought that book and shared the fruit of your labor with us. May Moleskine be worthy of YOU!
I always have trouble starting on an expensive piece of watercolor paper. Maybe that's why I prefer smaller pieces - it makes me feel like I'm not wasting it! Good for you for jumping in, your flowers look great.
Dear Lisa,
Your drawings are just beautiful!
I understand about keeping records. I used to do a better job than I am doing lately. I just get tired after working in the gardens all day. I really cannot be out in the sun and heat any more. I am becoming a Spring and Autumn gardener. Thank goodness for rainy days.
Happy drawing! I just love seeing all your "art". I bet a butterfly or a bee could join in once the theme expands to "Garden Flowers and their friends"! Perhaps a Dragonfly could land on a lily pad? I see Purple Cone flowers with Gold Finches come September.
Such great fun,
Sherry
OH wow Lisa, these pages are beautiful and refreshing!
Dropping by to say "Hi" Lisa!
