While this isn't a great rendition of a wren I must say it was fun trying to do it. The house wrens have nests in three of the houses I have out for them this year. All going at one time. It tells me that they don't have to have a large territory.
One of the houses is right beside the patio doors so I can sit inside the house and watch the comings and goings of the Mr and Mrs feeding the young. One of them often perches on this small pot before it enters it's house.
Happy Animal Wedensday to everyone. I hope you are having a good week.

How cute. My chickadees fled the nest a couple days ago. I was having fun watching that activity. This morning I saw Nuthachers with babies in the tree out back. They were wanting to be fed by the parents and make the cutest little peeping sounds. I love this time of year.
Oh how cute this is. These little wonders of nature right at your doorstep!
Nice rendition of this lovely creature Lisa!
HAW!
Lisa,
How sweet. Wrens are lovely birds and amongst my favourites.
Sadly I found the female dead during our bitterly cold winter. I do miss them.....
How lovely you can watch the comings and goings.......and also create such a beautiful painting, as a reminder of your time spent with them.....
Love this, Lisa! Wrens are one of my very favorite birds. Love it when the flit about with that little tail cocked up, gives them such great attitudes!
That's a cool wren sitting in that beautiful world you have created!
What a sweet painting!!! Darling bird~
I love watching these little guys. I must say, I have heard so many new bird calls since moving in here. I need a lesson in identification. Cute painting.
Oh so cute Lisa.
Dear Lisa,
Three house fulls...how delightful.
I love the way they care for their young.
Your drawing is great.
I have enjoyed catching up with you this evening. I do feel very far behind.....

What a sweet painting.
All I have in my yard are sparrows and those damn Grackles who clean me out every day!!
I do love my little sparrows though, and the one cardinal that shows up. And of course my corvid pals :)
we have lots of garden sparrows around us right now. There is a little one next door on the house gutter sinigng every day calling for a mate- I do hope he finds one soon.I go out and look for him every day and he is still there...sigh. I want to put an advert in the newspaper for him...
Hi Lisa! I love this painting. It must be fun being able to watch the little birdie up close and personal.
Very sweet, makes me want to go grab my paints and do something!
Hugs and thanks for all your comments on my blog while I was gone.
Wow you really should feel honored to have these wrens around. I guess they are very fussy about where they nest? I like this! Hope you are having a good summer.
