Common Whitetail Female

This time of year when we go birding we often get sidetracked by all the dragonflies and butterflies. This Common Whitetail Skimmer Female sure entertained us for a few minutes as it flew and then would go back to the same stick to rest. It is often easy to get pictures of them when they pause at the same stick. I drew this from my DB's photo. I hope you all are keeping cool.

Hi Lisa,

Damsels and dragons are so lovely to watch. They fascinate me. Their wings are particularly beautiful.

I love your painting Lisa.....you must have such a lovely collection of artwork now. Do you ever spend time looking at them? I love going through my pieces of calligraphy.

I was told recently that Dragonflies only live three days! I was also told that they don't have mouths. Could this be true?
This is a very nice drawing of a skimmer.

You have created a beautiful work here. These guys are amazing. I love that they help with the skeeters, too!

Such delicate wings...I know I keep saying this or thinking it and hoping I'm saying it...you could publish a book of these drawings and people would buy it. So so well done.

Thanks for sharing another of your lovely and tender piece.
The transperancy on its wing made it look so mysterious and beautiful!

Do you know how much I love dragonflies?
I even collect dragonflies fridge magnets. One given to friend, one still with me.

Happy Blooming Tuesday Lisa!
