I debated whether to post this for Animal Wednesday or not but it is the only animal-like subject I have right now. This is a "Staghorn" fern that lives here with me. It has nearly taken over the plant table as it is 40" wide. It loves sitting there in the window in it's perch. It keeps growing and growing. I don't know what I will do with it when it outgrows this space. I didn't paint all of the leaves, just enough to give the idea of how big it is. Happy Animal Wednesday Everyone. I hope all of your animal friends are happy and healthy this winter.

Hi Lisa,
Beautiful plant, lovely painting.
Staghorn ferns are lovely. Do you put it outside in the summer months?? Obviously not in the heat, poor thing. I sometimes put my indoor plants out in warm summer rain....they really seem to like it.
Gorgeous fern! Looks like you have found the perfect spot for it in your home & such a wonderful art model :-)
This is beautiful, Lisa!!!
What a cool plant. I love this!
I can sure see why the plant is called Staghorn. Look at that rack!
and I love all the greens you used; and the shading of your browns on the container! Wow. I am learning painting from you as I look at this, thank you so much.
and thank you too, Lisa, for being such a devoted follower of my blog.
Really nice painting. They do grow large. I wonder if it could be divided and thus made smaller?
Hi Lisa,
I have the most difficult time trying to email you. Microsoft always returns my notes marked "undelivered". This is what I tried to say: I wondered if your fern might die if you tried to divide it. Maybe just let it go and give it a room!
We got snow around 3PM yesterday. No accumulation but it was so pretty when it was falling. Big, fat flakes! Snuggle under one of youir big quilts and stay warm!
