Blooming Tuesday - Flowering Maple

It has been a long while since I have seen a bloom in my garden. Even now, no blooms in the garden but imagine my surprise when I walked into the dining room and found that the Flowering Maple had a couple of blooms. It was such a lovely surprise. This crazy flower usually only blooms for me during fall. I will take it though. It gives me such hope and expectation for spring. Yes, the days are getting longer. I can hardly wait.

I love your flower and good thoughts of spring! I noticed I could see into the back yard this morning, it's still dark, but there's a hint of light.

I've never heard of a flowering maple! How pretty it is. Yes, it won't be too much longer now. I'm seeing tiny sprouts of spring bulbs pushing up through the ground. So exciting.
You are really good at drawing plants and animals.

Lisa,

That is a favourite for me. Beautiful I love it. Reminds me of those lovely illustraions I would find in Victorian botanical books.

Gorgeous :)

Here, in SF, we have had an usually mild *Winter*... the dryest in over 40 years...the Cherry Blossoms and other flowering trees and plans are already in bloom....

I tell you, Lisa, you double your pleasure: growing such a lovely blooming plant and then, illustrating it as well, ensuring that the pleasures last. Enjoy! I sure did.
