Lilting Sparrow

This weekend the sun was out, the snow melted and we were all thankful. The Song Sparrows around here all seemed to take the sun shine as a cue to practice their territorial songs. Maybe they were just as happy as I was that the sun came back out. I hope you all had a great weekend.

This is wonderful Lisa. I too can feel the softness of the feathers here. We've been enjoying the song birds the last couple days with the snow we had. They have appreciated the food we have tossed out for them. :))

The Friday post's old house painted yellow is lovely. I suppose it will be in your paintings soon?

Lisa,

That is just so sweet. Lovely painting. I love sparrows and think they are a little left out....the more colourful birds always catch ones eye.
You have captured him perfectly...

You may be interested to know a spanish sparrow arrived in UK last week, and sent the birders crazy.
I would imagine since the bad weather set in, he has flown back home :)

I adore Sparrows....and your painting has brought this one *to life*.....his feathers, the spark in his eye,,,I can almost see his head move,,,,,hear his song!

Beautiful work! (As always!)

Hugs from chilly (to us) 30 degree San Francisco!

I love those little birds!
I once had one as a little girl. I found a naked hatchling on the steps of the office I worked. Brought it home and raised it and eventually he went back in nature. When I was in my garden and whistled he would fly from the trees and land on my finger.
How I loved that little bird.
Great painting Lisa!!!!
