Weather Forecast - Not

The Persimmon Trees are loaded with fruit right now. A good time to be collecting them for jam and such. I like to pick up a few for the Fall/Winter weather forecast. Unfortunately when I opened this seed it didn't show spoon or fork. The first time this has happened to me. It was pure white inside. Maybe I have to wait until the fruit ripens a little more.
I have heard others say they have found spoons inside. This means a rough winter. If so, it would correlate with the TV weather people. Has anyone else looked to see what their persimmon seeds forecast?

Now this is something I haven't ever heard of, Lisa! And I'm a little surprised as I come from a farming community. And I certainly don't wish a rough winter on anyone, but a hard freeze or two would be good for the bug population in Florida!

I thought I was reading wrong when I read this about spoon and fork being inside. lol
Never heard of that one. You did a great illustration tho.. maybe the white means a bland winter. :))

Well, Lisa, I can't imagine a fork or spoon inside the persimmon fruit. We have had some here growing wild but most were cut down for house locations.

If I can find one still remaining I will pick some to see what they have.

Thank you for you kind words on our loss of Adi. We miss her.

Oh that's new to me too. Somehow it feels as though it's going to be a rough Winter here too- can't say why I feel this though. Love your sketches dear one. Sending you lotsa warm Autumnal thoughts.

Jill,

I noticed a comment you made on the Artist Journal Workshop blog about sketch crawls. I work for the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, and our branch (East Branch) sponsored a sketch crawl this past summer. I have plans in the works for three crawls in May 2013 in different historic areas of Evansville. Drop me a line if you're interested. I've had several other people contact me, so getting a group together shouldn't be a problem.

I mean Lisa, not Jill. Sorry!

Have you checked this year? My father-in-law just told me this story and I had to do some research. He said they saw all spoons this year in Oklahoma. We are going to test some tomorrow so I can see for myself. Did you ever re-try yours last year? And did the prediction turn out right?
