I must admit that I am a regular at the library. I found this book which I thought would help me to better understand Mariannes Mandalas art. She explains very good but I wanted more of a basis to even better understand. I used some markers that have been around here for some time. I can't even remember why I bought them. This project was just perfect for them.

Good morning Artsy! I like your creations and your Article for this cold morning here in the mountains of the Mohawk River. I am not completely awake yet and I am waiting for the wind to blow to see what direction I will be taking today.
Thanks for sharing Lisa.
Actually, I always curious about what Mandalas is!?
On Wednesday, while doing some errants in Kuala Lumpur(one of the city cente in Malaysia)
I happened to hopped in to a library that have a bunch of creative book. The 5th book that I grabbed was a book just explaining Mandalas and how to start one...and so on.
And i am so glad you go into details to know more.
Mandalas is such a beauty.
what a good little sketch. mandalas don't beckon me to draw them, but i do love seeing the ones that marriane and teri do.
Soulbrush, I too love seeing the mandalas they make. It is all the symbolism that is used that had me curious.
I do one ever so often but like you I am not beconed to do them.
Neat sketch. Let us know how you like the book. I have a book on making mandalas but unlike Marianne that knows everything, I don't want to know much because making a mandala is peaceful for my mind. Hmm, did that make sense? :)
And I am also a library fiend but I rarely get beyond my favorites--mysteries unless I am on a mission like you are.
Teri, I had been thinking about all the symbolism that Marianne had been telling us about with her mandalas and that is what drew me to the book. I didn't realy seek it out. It was on the shelf of New Non-fiction at our library. I thought it was calling me to read it. It has such a colorful jacket.
If I do a mandala it has to be relaxed. It makes me nervous to see that round blank space. Heck, I get nervous with any blank space. That is why my walls, table tops etc are covered. Ha...
I really like how you journal your life. I keep resolving to write down all the books I check out of the library and keep a record...but after once or twice I forget.
Steviewren, I have done the same thing. I start writing down the books I read then lose interest in it.
Sometimes the covers of books are as interesting or more interesting than the book.
That's a beautiful cover. Your post reminds me of my daughter's mandala maker. It's a wheel that makes a circle and lets her add geometric shapes and swirls wherever she pleases. She will spend hours on this working on patterns. Very relaxing.
What fun to use some old but newly found art supplies...a great vibrant sketch of the cover...I think it would have called to me also...let us all know how you like it! :)
this reminds me that I have not go library for a long time!
Hi Lisa!
What a beautiful sketch of the book you told me about a while ago. The cover is so colorful.
I hope you will like the book! Please let us know......
Glad the markers were there for you ready to make this vibrant beautiful page :)
hug Marianne
Oh...LOL...I thought this was a picture of the book...but you actually drew the book! Cool! I have a hard time understanding chakras also...I will look for this book myself!
Just to let you know...I am a library FREAK!
