Rocky Mt National Park

As the snow flies here I am once again painting a scene that I so admired when we came upon it while driving in Rocky Mountain National Park. I have been to this park many times. I love to be in the mountains. When we came upon this scene it was so striking because the Aspen grove was so dark except for the yellow flowers that were like beacons. I haven't forgotten the surprise I felt in seeing these bright yellow flowers blooming in a very dark area. I hope everyone has been having a fun weekend. Keep warm...

I love those flowers blooming in a dark area--need them, in fact, Lisa! God bless.

With your painting and description of the scene I got all excited. What a beautiful sight. Nature is so full of surprises and it is up to us to find and appreciate them.

Oh...I can only imagine the sense of happiness and wonder you felt, coming upon this yellow blooming spot amidst all the dark and grey! Beautiful!

I've never been to the Rockies but your description of an aspen forest, lit from within by bright yellow flowers is lovely. Nice painting too.
