This Animal Wedensday I had to show you one of the images that stuck in my mind from our Christmas Bird Count Saturday. It was a flock of crows that were happily scarfing up on a rack of ribs. It must have been a coyote or some other smaller creature that didn't quite make it across the road. Happily its death was not in vain. It kept this flock of crows fed and hard telling how many other animals during this awful cold spell we are going through here.

Fun to draw what you see and think about. We have crows here that love the walnuts that fall in fall. There is one spot on the street where we live they will fall onto so we will drive over the cases to crack the nuts for them. Must help keep everything fed. :)
wow - this is great. I saw a group of vultures feeding off a dead deer in florida but didn't photograph it - so am enjoying this one.

Interesting painting. I guess the creatures out there are all pretty hungry about now. Not much to eat up here either.

Where would we be without our scavanger birds? I see lots of crows munching on roadkills and turkey voltures too. This is a good likeness. I like crows, for some reason.
