This is my journal page after watching some of the news coverage of the earthquake in Haiti. It is so heartbreaking to see. I am afraid it will all get worse before it gets better.
The prompt for Haiku Bones was trembling. I thought this was so apt after seeing the situation in Haiti. For more haiku go here. I am sure there are many more uplifting haikus to read there.Noone was prepared
trembling hearts ache eternally
dreadful aftershocks
Everyone cried out
even those that wanted to help
trembling hands grasp
Under the brilliant sun
the earth stood trembling
hearts still quivering

This is so sad. It is breaking my heart in half.
Incredibly sad and heartbreaking to see such an impoverished country hit so hard.
Your haikus say it all. Well done.
I'm going to donate to the red cross or another world organization. Every little bit helps ;)
It is so incredibly sad......
I sponsor a little boy at the Haitian Christian Mission. I haven't heard yet whether they are all safe or not. This country has had one disaster after another for so long. Thanks for thinking of them!
The perfect haiku for such a tragedy. The prompt was so incredibly timely.
Powerful
Beautiful Lisa.....a touching post.
Watching the news this morning brought tears to my eyes......the world must help the people that are left with such heart break....
makes me want to cry too (and we complain because our hair won't curl properly!)
sad but that's the way the world goes...
I am impressed with your timely poem, and the neatness of your journal. Mine is messy.
Amazing set of "trembling" haiku! Beautiful, heartfelt work.
I could hardly believe how horribly apt my prompt this week at Haiku Bones became. I think we are all trembling in sympathy with Haiti.
Lisa, these are really well done - that last one gripped my heart. I haven't seen too many photos because we don't have Tv but it's so awful to see the pictures on the web. You spoke your heart and the words truly convey the meaning.
Lisa, we needed someone to write this. Thank you for doing it.
This really is a big mess down there, it may be one of the worst natural disasters of the century.
Your haiku trio has a nice collection of trembling, with hearts, hands, and earth.
Your journal page hits home. What a nightmare down there. So sad.
Hiati is beyond heartbreaking...the images of ruin & despair are chilling....your haiku is wonderfully powerfully done.....
Maribel
so scary to think of the "solid" earth quacking and breaking and bringing such disaster and pain. Thanks for the haiku
you managed to write so beautifully about something so awful.
