My muse was kick started in a new direction when I saw a project on Lynn's blog. Lynn is a quilter/artist. One of her projects that she did simply didn't leave my mind. It was an art quilt with pictures of a poignant time in her life. You can see it here. Thank you so much Lynn for sharing all of your many talents with the blog world. You have been an inspiration.
Below you can see that I am set up in the dining room. We are having Thanksgiving dinner in here. I better get busy.
Needless to say I am not duplicating her work by a long shot. Her project just set my mind working. My son is turning 40 in January and I hope to have a quilt made with pictures from his life worked into/on it. I wanted to do something special for him. I think he will like it. IF I can get it finished. So if you don't here from me for awhile you will know I am all covered up. (pun intended. :))
I hope that everyone has a good week.

This is a lovely start. I hope your quilt is everything you want it to be. Please show us the finished product, of course.
Ho fun Lisa. Isn't it exciting when something touches your creative spirit and won't let go. Can't wait to see the finished quilt. Have fun!
Wow do I feel honoured here! Thank you Lisa for the shout out to my blog(s)...and I am so touched that my work has inspired you to make a memory quilt for your son. The background is a wonderful beginning. I too look forward to seeing your additions of yours/his memories added to it.
If you have to put it away for the Thanksgiving feast so be it. It can come right back out again!!! An artist needs her space!
Good luck with the project. I can't wait to see the finished product.
oh it'll be great!
Love your fabric choices, Lisa! Very pretty! Good luck getting it done in time!!! Go, go, go!!!
Oh wow the blogs are inspiring!!! too bad there are just not enough hours in a day to follow up on the inspiration of all the blogs.
But there will always be better times.
Glad you found time to follow Lynn's inspiration.
I am sure you will just create the perfect gift for your son.
Must be wonderful to be working on this!

Happy quilting, beautiful lady! I hope you'll post a photo of your son's quilt.
I am wondering how the quilt is coming along! I hope you're having a great weekend.
What a super project - sounds like it'll be a labour of love! I look forward to seeing it when you get it finished!
I've been wanting to make a quilt out of old denim jeans (I have piles of cut denim fabric in all shades) but don't have a machine and I hate sewing so don't think it will ever get done. Your blues reminded me....and maybe inspired me. Someday.
I really like the colors. It's a beauty! I agree with the others - you are making an heirloom for someone in the future.
