Animal Wednesday - Northern Saw-whet Owl

The tiny Saw-whet owls are beginning to make their trek south for the winter. Some have been reported by one of the banding groups in Northern Indiana.
I couldn't resist painting one for a friend's birthday card. She loves owls and pumpkins.
Happy Animal Wednesday.

Hi there. Indeed the Northern Saw-Whet Owl are making there way towards your part of the country from Canada. I live n Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and this past Friday, my wife and I came upon an adult Saw-Whet Owl out in the bush. This was the first time as birders that we had ever seen a Saw-Whet Owl. Fortunately, we had our camera with us and got some good pictures and video. We have posted them for anyone interested at: http://frametoframe.ca/photo-essay-northern-saw-whet-owl-sighting
