This is the end. We drove through Vicksburg on the way home so we stopped at the National Military park and did some of the driving tour after watching a short film about the siege that took place here. It was all interesting and quite sobering. It was a somewhat overcast day and the lack of light reflected the way this place made me feel. There were so many monuments to the different companies of military. The old cannons were still in place in a few places. It was all intersting but sad to me. I was glad to get home safe and sound. I hope you all have a great weekend.

it's like the burnt out tanks we used to see scattered along the roads in kuwait, left there after the first war in 1991. a sad reminder that didn't seem to remind anyone of anything as they had a second conflict there 13 years later! sigh...so glad you're home and safe. see my blog for a new award for you 'sister'.
Great page!! Love how you incorporated all the extras on your page. Great trip. So happy you kept such a great journal and shared it with us.
Nice spread...I had a similar sombering experience in Gettysburg...great journal! :)
Oh yes these things are really sad. Interesting but they are a sad reminder of human madness....
Glad you had a good trip and are safe in our mids again!
We passed through Vicksburg about 3 years ago...it really was something to see. My husband is a lover of everything Civil War. I just mentioned it to my husband, and he said his fav part there was Fort Hill.

Interesting trip and well done with your beautiful journal sharing.
I like not just sight-seeing but to look around at the history and culture of a place., which make the trip even more interesting!
